Due in part to the long history of the P.G. Oxley Ltd business, our company can boast a wide range of skills covering a variety of prestigious contracts, from new houses to refurbishments, renovations, extensions and alteration work, across both the private and commercial sectors.

Over our 160 year history many local building and institutions have formed part of our ‘portfolio’ of works; Walton Pier, Clacton, Colchester & Severalls Hospitals, Frinton Royal Mail Sorting Office, Local Farms, Golf & Tennis Clubs to name just some. 

More recently due to our growing reputation as a Principal Contractor in refurbishments, extensions, one-off new builds and renovation work, the building side of the business regularly works further afield as well as in the local area. In recent years the company has carried out extensive works to many listed properties and forged excellent working relationships with the relevant authorities.

As a local company we continue to serve the local community and have undertaken work on numerous local Doctors Surgeries, Churches, Schools, Shops and Offices.

The building business sis now managed by the sixth generation of the family, Bruce Oxley.  He has formed close relationships with many
well-respected architects and designers who continue to receive the high-class finish which the company, as well as the clients, architects and designers demand.

As a Principal Contractor, the company is happy to take full responsibility for all the trades involved in every project, embracing the opportunity to build new relationships with specialist sub-contractors from across the country.

Supporting Bruce in coordinating the projects and ensuring materials and labour are always correctly assigned and running to schedule, the building business operates an experienced office team led by Bruce’s cousin, Rob Lewarne. Rob who was previously a bricklayer is based at the building services offices in Walton-on-the-Naze and administers the logistics and liaises with all the various site managers who form part of the building services team.

In recent years the company have been awarded the Customer Service Award at the Newsquest Colchester District Business Awards and we continue to enjoy the confidence of the local community as the district’s longest established Independent building service.
