Established for over 160 years, independent and family run the current family members have over 75 years of experience. We are long standing members of the National Association of Funeral Directors and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors.

As an independent family business, we set ourselves extremely high standards of care and service. As full members of the National Association of Funeral Directors and the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors, we work strictly within the industry best practice guidelines that have been developed by these trade bodies.
The current family members, Father and son team Phillip & Bruce Oxley have over 75 years with the firm between them. P.G.Oxley Ltd. has three fully staffed offices and private chapels of rest at Walton-on-the-Naze, Frinton-on-Sea and Clacton-on-Sea.
Whilst proud of our long history, traditional standards and independent status, we have continued to evolve our services over many years to keep abreast of developments and offer a full range of facilities including Golden Charter Pre-Payment Funeral Plans, Specialist Vehicles, Environmental Funerals and both modern and traditional coffin designs.
For over 160 years, we have provided a valued service to the local community and continue to offer the same service and attention to detail as it was when started back in 1857 with Philip Oxley and his son Phillip George.
